Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Yevgeny Shestakov paid a working visit to Uruguay and met with Andres Pelaes, Director General of the Secretariat of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uruguay. This sb.by reported in the press service of the foreign Ministry of our country.
The interlocutors discussed the state and prospects for the development of bilateral relations, including political dialogue, interaction in international organizations, cooperation in the humanitarian sphere.
Particular attention was paid to the development of joint steps aimed at expanding trade and economic cooperation.
The interlocutors also exchanged views on topical issues of the regional agenda.
Following the talks, the parties signed an agreement on trade and economic cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Eastern Republic of Uruguay, which is aimed at forming a basis for deepening bilateral economic ties and provides for the creation of a joint commission on trade and economic cooperation.
Evgeny Shestakov and Andres Pelaes also signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cultural and artistic cooperation between the Ministry of Culture of Belarus and the Ministry of Education and Culture of Uruguay.
