- 1.Lukashenko on the need for Belarus to withstand global transformation: We're being whipped
- 2."Turn into silent slaves." Lukashenko on the policy of ethnocide in Western Belarus in the period 1921-1939
Alexander Lukashenko noted that in the period from 1921 to 1939, that is, for 18 years, ethnocide was practiced on the territory of Western Belarus. The main purpose of this practice was to break people spiritually, suppress their individuality and turn them into silent servants. That is why the inhabitants of the western regions of Belarus welcomed the Red Army as their liberators with flowers.
Let me stress that for the Belarusians this campaign was not military. It was a peaceful meeting of two parts of one people. This fact has been recognized by some Western countries, in particular France and Britain, the President said.
He also appealed to “Belarusian scholars” from the West.
“These people are driven by phantom pain, the hate gene, and we are driven by the energy of creation. Our land has risen from the ashes many times. Neither the bloody campaigns against the Eastern Slavs nor the First World War and the Great Patriotic War broke us, Alexander Lukashenko said.
Belarusians do not need foreign territories, resources or concepts.
“We have a beautiful country, a hardworking people, rich traditions, both cultural and political. We do not impose our philosophy of life on anyone, but import philosophy will not take root here, he said.
