Ryzhenkov told what global priorities can truly unite BRICS participants and partners
One of the main tasks of BRICS is the formation of a fair system of global governance and the strengthening of the role of the Global Majority in the adoption of global governance.

Belarus considers the formation of a fair system of global governance and strengthening the role of the Global Majority in decision-making one of the main tasks of BRICS. This was stated by the Minister of foreign Affairs of Belarus Maxim Ryzhenkov, speaking at the open session “Sustainability, innovation, cooperation and self-realization: shaping the future for inclusive global growth”, which is a key event of the second day of the XVIII BRICS summit, held on September 12-13 in Delhi.

Maxim Ryzhenkov represents our country on behalf of President Alexander Lukashenko. Belarus participates in the BRICS summit as a partner state.
First of all, the Belarusian Foreign Minister expressed gratitude to the Indian side for the excellent organization of the summit and a constructive approach to interaction with partner countries.
BRICS is rapidly becoming one of the most authoritative institutions of the world majority and a global unifying force actively shaping a just world order. Of course, this dynamic process is met with resistance. We are seeing growing pressure from those who continue to seek global dominance. They are constantly trying to intimidate us with sanctions, economic, trade and financial restrictions, illegal tariffs and other similar measures. Unlike those who impose their will, our organization acts differently. We are guided exclusively by peaceful and constructive aspirations. Of course, one of our tasks is the formation of a fair system of global governance and the strengthening of the role of the Global Majority in decision-making.
And these decisions, stressed Maxim Ryzhenkov, are of key importance for the stable development of the whole world:
- Global priorities can really bring us together. It can be expressed through the idea of change. First of all, it is reliability and sustainability. BRICS has the potential to adapt to current conditions and transform itself in response to global challenges.
According to the Belarusian side, the integration of integrations can make a significant contribution to building open and equal partnership relations.
- By this we mean interaction between BRICS and other international institutions, the Belarusian Foreign Minister said. It is important to note BRICS’ consistent efforts to create an independent and inclusive payment and financial system. We are grateful for the nomination of Belarus to participate in the BRICS New Development Bank. The approach is important. While others fear a loss of technological superiority, the BRICS is focusing on universal digitalization and reducing technological inequality. Areas such as cybersecurity and the use of artificial intelligence remain underregulated. These areas can become both tools for addressing security issues and can be used to curb the development of undesirable countries.
Separately, Maxim Ryzhenkov touched upon the development of cooperation as one of the priorities:
- The potential for conflict is growing every day. At a time when even the norms of international law are beginning to be perceived as atavism, it is essential to remain committed to the principles of justice and the indivisibility of security. To prevent hotbeds of tension from escalating into full-scale war, a new system capable of ensuring a balance of power is needed. We discuss the creation of such an architecture at the annual Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security. It was on this platform that the idea of the Eurasian Charter for Diversity and Multipolarity in the XXI Century was born. This document could be the first step towards building a new system of cooperation on the entire Eurasian continent. Jointly developed approaches can be applied on a global scale. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus named sustainable development aimed at improving infrastructure, strengthening human resources and improving general welfare as another priority:
- At the same time, food security is becoming increasingly important. Military conflicts, disruptions in supply chains, illegal unilateral coercive measures and climate change often lead to food shortages and disruptions. Belarus is always ready to lend a helping hand; we call for sharing achievements in improving living standards, quality of nutrition and efficiency of agricultural production.
