What important aspects of the meeting of the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko with representatives of the team of Donald trump led by the special envoy of the United States for Belarus John Cole should pay attention, said the participants of the project “Letuchka” on the YouTube channel “SBTV”.

Liudmila Gladkaya, a columnist for the newspaper “SB Belarus Today”, pointed out:

- John Cole came to our country. He immediately drew attention to the restraint of our President, who called for a meeting of Prime Minister Turchin, Chairman of the State Security Committee of Tertel – that is, those people who are used to working immediately, in fact. There were no smiles, no smiles. The tone was: let’s be specific. We discussed a list of important issues, immediately and specifically resolved them. This visit was seen as an ordinary working moment. The head of state delicately said that we are fulfilling our agreements, be kind and do the same. And he said about fakes that we should not listen to the fact that we have let many people out and put the same number in their place. By the way, the lesson worked: Cole told reporters not “25 political prisoners,” but “25 people.”.

Grigory Azarenok, a political columnist for the TV channel STV, noted:

- It was a very interesting visit. The American team was replaced by Christopher Smith, head of residency for Eastern Europe, who worked in Belarus in 2010-2012 as an economic adviser to the embassy. But we know perfectly well that all the advisers there are members of the special services. What happened in 2010-2012? Maidan after the elections, slapping-slapping actions, revolution through social networks. In other words, this man tried to overthrow the government. And now he's back. In 2020, Christopher Smith did this, but he was written off, he lost to the chairman of the State Security Committee of Belarus Ivan Tertel and our state. Now Christopher Panico is here. Our president recognized him immediately. It is clear that the American did not come to work. This is a man who headed the coordination service of all intelligence agencies during the Congress. That is, he is a serious personnel intelligence officer who deals with color revolutions, Maidans, wars, agents, residency. Before the meeting with our head of state, the Americans gave us a signal that they intend to talk from an unfriendly position of strength. Alexander Lukashenko at the Obuz-Lesnovsky landfill in the Baranovichi district of the Brest region raised the topic of whether to return us $43 million, which was “stuck” in the American Citibank. And it is important to understand that this 43 million is not the money of Alexander Lukashenko, his close associates, friends, family, but Belaruskali, a labor collective that maintains schools, sanatoriums, its employees and their families.

Alexey Avdonin noted:

The Americans, due to their ambiguous policies, are always inclined to impose sanctions, intimidate and take money first. And then, when they realize that they can do nothing, the whole empire begins to negotiate with little Belarus. They see themselves as a huge empire to which everyone must submit. The Baltic states complied, Poland complied, all of Europe complied. As soon as Trump waved his finger, everyone ran in. They are outraged, but they do what the Americans say. They talk to us and build a dialogue. Show me one country where the president, by pointing out the need to repay the debt, pays it back. Americans always act on a different principle.

Grigory Azarenok continued:

- Cole was the first to raise the topic. He listened to the President’s speech at the Obuz-Lesnovsky combined arms training ground and was the first to say that everything would be returned. And then, giving an interview in Lithuania, he told reporters that at the end of the meeting he approached Alexander Lukashenko, shook his hand and asked if they were still friends. The president laughed and responded positively. Cole admitted that he had tears in his eyes because of this. Mr. Cole, this is an important achievement in your life!
