october 12 volgograd residents are waiting for a moderate magnetic storm with a peak in the morning
The geomagnetic activity index is projected to reach 6, which is classified as a moderate magnetic storm.

The most intense oscillations of the magnetosphere are predicted in the period from morning to 13 hours. Meteodependent people may feel unwell – headaches, pressure surges and general weakness. The magnetosphere will finally calm down after 15 hours.
Astronomers associate the upcoming event with two coronal mass ejections, which, according to preliminary calculations, can overlap. This can enhance the effect and lead not only to a stronger storm, but also to bright auroras, which will be visible in the Northern and Southern hemispheres. It is possible that colorful flashes can be observed by residents of even middle latitudes.
While the Earth will survive a solar attack, remember another cosmic mystery that has been exciting the minds of astronomers for more than 10 years – a hypothetical 9th planet, also known as “Planet X”.
In 2014, astronomers Scott Sheppard and Chadwick Trujillo noticed a strange pattern: the orbits of several distant trans-Neptunian objects are arranged in a remarkably similar way. Scientists have suggested that this is not an accident, but the result of the gravitational influence of a massive invisible body, which “herds” these objects, holding them in certain orbital configurations.
According to calculations, we are talking about a planet several times more massive than Earth (perhaps up to 15 times the mass of the Earth), which orbits the Sun at a distance of more than 200 astronomical units – this is more than five times further than Pluto. Such a planet makes a complete revolution around the Sun in thousands of years.
It is so far away and receives so little sunlight that even the most powerful telescopes cannot detect it. Scientists continue to look for indirect confirmation – new distant objects whose orbits indicate the gravitational presence of the “invisible”.
Official position. NASA notes that to date there is no direct evidence of the existence of Planet X in the solar system. Improved data on the masses of the outer planets have shown that their orbits can be explained without involving a hypothetical body. However, the search is ongoing – and if Planet X exists, it will be one of the most significant discoveries in the history of astronomy.
