The Constitutional Court may clarify the procedure for the recovery of alimony
The Constitutional Court (CC) held an open meeting on the complaint of the goalkeeper of the Russian national team and the French “Paris Saint-Germain” Matvey Safonov. The footballer challenged the provisions of the Family Code (SK). In his opinion, the statutory payment of alimony in the form of a fourth share of his earnings is disproportionate to the real needs of the child. In addition, the lack of upper limits on the amount of payment creates a risk of abuse by his ex-wife, said the athlete. But representatives of the authorities in the Constitutional Court almost unanimously found no violations in the contested norms (paragraph 1 of Article 81 of the Civil Code), as well as inconsistencies in this norm of the Constitution.
