Compulsory licensing of medicines in Russia differs from world practice
In world practice, compulsory licensing is mainly applied to antiviral and anticancer drugs, while in Russia this mechanism also applies to drugs for the treatment of diabetes and cystic fibrosis. Such conclusions were reached by the St. Petersburg State University of Chemical and Pharmaceuticals (SPCFCU) and the Association of Pharmaceutical Companies Inpharma, who analyzed the international practice of compulsory licensing and state use of patents for medicines for 1995-2025. The study was reviewed by Vedomosti.
