Cindy Crawford's 27-year-old son dies in rehab
Presley Gerber’s final years were marred by an uphill battle with addiction and mental health issues

The only son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Randy Gerber, model Presley Gerber, passed away on September 20, 2026. According to the Los Angeles County Forensic Examiner's Office, the tragedy occurred Sunday at a rehab center. This is reported by The Guardian.
Family spokesman Ellie Jenkins confirmed the sad news.
“The family asks that her privacy be respected at this very difficult and painful time,” the statement said.
The exact cause of death has not yet been established - specialists will have to conduct an autopsy, but the version of sudden cardiac arrest is previously considered.
Presley was born in California in July 1999 and was the eldest child of the star couple (younger sister Kaia was born two years later). He entered the world of fashion at the age of 15, signing a contract with the agency IMG Models. His catwalk debut took place in 2016 at the Moschino’s Resort show in Los Angeles. During his career, he collaborated with brands Celine, Calvin Klein, Dolce & Gabbana, and together with his mother starred in Pepsi commercials.
The last years of Presley’s life were marred by an uphill battle with addiction and mental health issues. Back in 2019, he was arrested for drunk driving, after which the court assigned him three years of probation and a mandatory rehabilitation program. Shortly before his death, the young man spoke openly about his struggle: he took buprenorphine to treat opioid use disorders, suffered from panic attacks and fought them with antidepressants. In one video, he admitted to seeing 15 psychiatrists, but received only a plethora of drugs with almost no instructions for their use.
In September 2026, shortly before the tragedy, Presley's younger sister, 25-year-old model Kaia Gerber, gave an interview to Vogue magazine. She said her brother had been struggling with drug addiction for at least a decade. Kaia said her brother's illness made her consider herself a "problem-free" child and never ask for help, as she felt it was wrong to burden her parents with taking care of two children in need of support.
Cindy Crawford has repeatedly publicly supported her son. On July 3, she posted an archival photo of the boy with the caption: "I'm so proud of the man you've become, but I'll always remember you as my little boy!" I love you. Presley last appeared in public in May 2026 at an event in support of Kaia's collection, where he looked relaxed and smiled beside his parents.
