Along with him were businessman Bruno Avelar, videographer and pilot. The Bell 430 took off from the city of Porto Belo on September 21 to San Joaquim, located in the mountainous part of the state. At about 16:00 local time (22:00 GMT) communication with the aircraft was interrupted.
After that, the military fire service and the police of Santa Catarina began a search. First, rescuers examined the area of the city of Urubisi in the mountainous part of the state, including the area of Vakas Gordas, but no trace of the helicopter was found. Later, the search was moved to the vicinity of San Joaquim, where the last signal of the mobile phone of one of those on board was recorded.
About 20 rescuers are involved in the ground operation. Their work is complicated by heavy rains and gusty wind in the mountainous terrain. The Brazilian Air Force has sent an H-60 Black Hawk helicopter and an Amazonas SC-105 aircraft to search for it.
JTA Empreendimentos e Urbanismo, which owns the Bell 430, has confirmed the disappearance of the aircraft. At the same time, there is no data on its crash yet.
Rick's representatives clarified that his duet partner Renner was not on board. At the time of the flight, the band had no scheduled performances.
The duo Rick & Renner appeared in the 1980s and became one of the famous bands in the genre of sertanejo - a popular direction of Brazilian country music. During their career, the musicians released several dozen albums and gained fame in Brazil.
Geraldo Antonio de Carvalho performs under the stage name Rick. His partner Renner is Ivair Reis Gonsalves. The duo several times stopped joint performances, but later the musicians returned to work together.
