Rospotrebnadzor blocked 48.6 thousand Internet resources with proposals for the sale of dietary supplements (BAA), the sale of which is prohibited in Russia, the press service of the Ministry reported.
In early September, Rospotrebnadzor reported blocking 41.1 thousand such sites. Thus, for the month the Agency blocked about 7.5 thousand resources.
Among the identified products were dietary supplements that did not pass state registration, contained normalized substances in quantities that do not meet the established requirements, or posed a danger.
Employees of the department daily check ads, product cards and pages of online stores for information about the sale of prohibited dietary supplements.
Rospotrebnadzor recommended buying dietary supplements only from official suppliers and checking registration documents. In case of doubts about the quality or origin of products, the department advised to contact its territorial authorities or the hotline of the Unified Consulting Center.
Earlier, the Russian government imposed duties of 35% on the import of dietary supplements from unfriendly countries, with the exception of Hungary and Slovakia. The measure came into force on October 2 and will be in effect until December 31, 2027 inclusive. Limiting the import of such additives has been discussed since 2023, when the amount of duties proposed to be set at the level of 50 to 220%.
