Former British Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has taken to court to challenge the legality of search warrants carried out as part of an investigation into his links to financier Jeffrey Epstein. This is reported by The Telegraph and Politico.
Andrew is challenging warrants that allowed Thames Valley police to search his home at Sandringham Estate and the former Royal Lodge residence in Windsor. They were issued by the Old Bailey Court at the request of the police.
According to The Telegraph, a closed hearing will be held in the High Court in the coming days. It will consider disclosing some documents related to Andrew's appeal.
A senior London police source said he was surprised the former prince had been detained rather than invited for questioning. "I'm not sure if the Metropolitan Police were investigating, they would have taken the same approach," the source said.
