The U.S. Coast Guard, after about 66 hours of searching, suspended an operation to search for a missing medical plane with six people on board off the coast of Nantucket, the agency's press service said.
Communication with the Gulfstream G100, flying from Bermuda to Boston, disappeared at about 02:00 (09:00 GMT) on October 3. Four Canadians and two Bermuda nationals were on board.
During the operation, the Coast Guard and others involved in the search for service surveyed 4,445 miles (about 7,100 square kilometers). The search involved aircraft, helicopters and vessels of the Coast Guard and the New York National Guard.
The investigation of the causes of the incident will be carried out by the relevant authorities.
Earlier, on October 4, search teams found debris off the coast of Nantucket, previously belonging to the missing Gulfstream G100. By this time, rescuers for 27 hours surveyed the area of 1,644 square miles (about 4.3 thousand square kilometers).
