The aircraft was operating Flight 4180. He flew from Ankara at 19:00 GMT and landed at the airport of Sanliurfa at 20:05 GMT. After landing, 136 passengers and seven crew members were evacuated.
Additional police units were sent to the airport. Specialists inspect the aircraft, the area around it is under enhanced security.
“In the future, security officers will check the aircraft for the presence of explosives,” said the governor of the province of Şanlıurfa Hassan Sıldak.
Later, NTV reported that during the inspection of the AJet aircraft, no explosives or suspicious devices were found on board.
Earlier, on September 30, a flydubai plane en route from Dubai to Tel Aviv signaled a possible seizure and changed the route. The aircraft made an unscheduled landing in Saudi Arabia. Later it turned out that on board there was a conflict between the pilots, as a result of which one of them attacked the other.
The UAE has set up an investigation team to investigate the incident. Investigators had to establish the circumstances of the incident and find out whether it was related to terrorist activities. On October 3, the UAE Prosecutor General’s Office called the incident an attempted terrorist attack.
