In the evening of October 5, the Russian Emergencies Ministry in Karachay-Cherkessia announced the beginning of the search for two tourists who strayed from the route to the Sofia lakes in the Zelenchuksky district.
According to the agency, the woman and the child could not independently descend from the route. The specialists of the Karachay-Cherkess search and rescue detachment of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia named after V. M. Dzeraev came out on their search.
Tourists did not register the route in the Emergencies Ministry units.
Earlier, on September 13, the Ministry of Emergency Situations in Karachay-Cherkessia reported on the search for six tourists who did not descend from the route to the Sofia lakes at the set time.
Rescuers later found the group alive. The tourists got lost on the descent, they did not need medical care. Rescuers escorted them to the clearing and brought them to the village of Arkhyz.
