According to the materials of the inspection of the prosecutor's office of Moscow, a criminal case was opened against the company because of the use of a deliberately forged quality passport for one of the series of veterinary vaccines. About this RBC reported in the press service of the capital’s Prosecutor’s office.
As told in the Ministry, a fake document was placed in the electronic information system when the drug was put into circulation. The case was initiated under Part 5 of Art. 327 of the Criminal Code - the use of a knowingly forged official document. The progress and results of the investigation are under the control of the prosecutor's office.
The source of RBC in law enforcement agencies said that we are talking about the company “Vetbiokhim”, and said that the inspection continues.
The Moscow prosecutor’s office began checking Vetbiokhim together with Rosselkhoznadzor specialists after the appeals received. On September 22, the prosecutor’s office reported that during the supervisory measures it revealed violations of the requirements of the legislation in the production of veterinary drugs.
In relation to the head of the company made a submission, was also initiated to bring the perpetrators to administrative responsibility, and the materials of the inspection sent to resolve the issue of initiating a criminal case.
The tests were preceded by reports of adverse reactions after the use of the Multican-8 vaccine. In August, Vetbiokhim announced the recall of several of its series after information about the death of dogs in the Yaroslavl region. At that time, the company stated that these series had passed quality control, and in other regions where the drug was supplied, there were no adverse reactions.
"Multikan-8" is a veterinary vaccine for the prevention of plague in dogs, adenovirus infections, parvovirus and coronavirus enteritis, leptospirosis and rabies.
The drug consists of a dry component with live attenuated strains of viruses and a liquid component with inactivated strains of leptospira and rabies virus.
Later, the Rosselkhoznadzor reported on the receipt of complaints of serious undesirable reactions also from the Leningrad, Tula, Penza, Saratov, Belgorod and Moscow regions, Moscow, St. Petersburg and Krasnodar Territory. The department appealed to the prosecutor's office for a joint inspection.
In the samples of series No. 20 Multican-8, selected in the Yaroslavl region, experts found a live virus of Auieska disease. Experts concluded that it was the cause of mass death of dogs. Vetbiokhim, in turn, attributed the incident to “organized intervention of third parties.”.
Auiesca disease is an infectious animal disease caused by the herpesvirus Suid alphaherpesvirus 1. It affects primarily the central nervous system, as well as other organs, including the respiratory tract.
The company told RBC that the Auieska virus was not found in the samples of the vaccine transferred to the study. Vetbiokhim called the situation a “serious challenge” and said that all the series of “Multikan-8” were withdrawn from production until the causes of the virus were determined.
