The Internet has become a basic need. “Today, we are so used to it, we do not notice it so much that when, God forbid, something goes out or does not work, we begin to sincerely get nervous, offended and say: “And how do we go on,” said the Deputy Prime Minister.
Grigorenko also said that more than 80% of citizens today make monthly purchases on digital platforms.
According to a January poll by the Public Opinion Foundation, 15% of Russians say they do not use the Internet at all. 79% of respondents said they have used the Internet at least once in the past day. 44% admitted that if they did not have access to the Internet, they would experience significant changes in their lives. Almost half the respondents (23%) are sure that their lives will not change at all. Among the reasons for distrust of the Internet, the Russians called fraudsters, the spread of “harmful, false” information and insufficient protection of personal data.
