The tanker caught fire in the sea near Sochi
Due to the incident, the beaches on the federal territory of Sirius were temporarily closed, the state of water and air is being monitored, authorities said

In the Black Sea there was a fire of a tanker, the beaches of the federal territory “Sirius” will be temporarily closed to ensure the safety of citizens, said the head of the municipality Dmitry Plishkin.
“Constant monitoring of the state of water and air together with Roshydromet is carried out. I ask residents and guests of the federal territory to refrain from prolonged stay on the streets and, if possible, not to open windows in the premises.
On October 5, the Turkish cargo ship Royad Mammadov with grain sank in the Black Sea off the coast of Romania after a fire. Two crew members were killed and 11 rescued. The cause of the fire is not officially known. The ship, built in 2006, sailed under the flag of St. Kitts and Nevis and was heading to the port of Ravenna (Italy).
Earlier, in July, a fire broke out on board the Liberian-flagged Gas Lisbon tanker in the Black Sea carrying liquefied natural gas, three people were injured. The ship was 17 nautical miles from the Romanian city of Sfynto Georg. Romanian Maritime Rescue Services received a distress call and promptly organized a rescue operation. All 17 crew members were evacuated and handed over to medics.
