The organizers estimated the lot at £30-50 thousand ($40-67 thousand, or about 3.4-5.7 million rubles).
In one of the most famous scenes of the film, the hero Jack Torrance with an axe cuts through the door behind which his wife Wendy, played by Shelly Duvall, hides. Then he says, “Here’s Johnny!”.
Along with the axe, two blue dresses of the Grady sisters from The Shining will be put up for auction, as well as film flaps used on the set of The Shining, 2001 Space Odyssey, Barry Lyndon and Eyes Wide Shut, as well as scripts with Kubrick’s notes, drawings and alternative scenes.
According to The Guardian, the most expensive lot will be a model of a space baby from the “Space Odyssey” in 2001. Its cost can be up to £ 800,000 (more than a million dollars or more than 90 million rubles).
The auction will take place on February 3 at Bonhams in London.
