The collapse of part of the rock occurred on October 7 at the site of mining. A 21-year-old employee was injured in the collapse. According to the Ministry of Health, he escaped from bruises and is in stable condition.
Investigators will conduct a pre-investigation check on signs of violation of industrial safety requirements of hazardous production facilities (Article 217 of the Criminal Code). The maximum penalty is imprisonment for up to three years.
The regional Emergencies Ministry reported that the collapse occurred at the Vostochny mine in the urban-type village of Vostok. At the time of the collapse, there were 22 people in the mine.
“The emergency personnel who arrived on the spot lifted the injured mining worker to the surface and handed him over to the ambulance. In total, as a result of the incident, one person was injured, there were no deaths, the report said.
At the Vostochny mine, underground mining of tungsten ore is underway. The development is carried out by the Primorsky Mining and Processing Plant (GOK), which is one of the largest producers of tungsten concentrate in Russia.
