One of the wounded in the attack in a special car in Kabardino-Balkaria, an FSIN employee died, the press service of the department reported.
"The leadership of the Service expresses deep condolences to the relatives and friends of the deceased comrade and will provide all necessary assistance," the statement said. The condition of the other victims was not reported.
The incident occurred on October 2. The convict, who was on a train in Kabardino-Balkaria, was able to take the gun from the convoy and killed him, wounding three more FSIN employees.
The man was convicted under st. 228 of the Criminal Code, clarified the interlocutors of RBC. The attack occurred while he was being escorted to the toilet, sources said. As a result, the criminal was eliminated.
The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case in connection with the attack under Part 1 of Art. 226 of the Criminal Code (theft of firearms), Part 3 of Art. 321 of the Criminal Code (disorganization of the activities of institutions that ensure isolation from society, committed with the use of violence dangerous to life and health) and Art. 317 of the Criminal Code (an encroachment on the life of a law enforcement officer).
On October 3, the press service of the Federal Penitentiary Service reported that employees who prevented escape from custody and localized the situation in the special car will be presented to state awards, one of them posthumously.
