Employees were called to the palace because of an aggressive man. During the operation, the police opened fire. The condition of the man is assessed as severe, but not life threatening. There is also no danger to the population, law enforcement officers said.

According to Expressen, a man with a knife approached the guard of the Royal Palace and asked to shoot him. Police shot him in the leg, the publication noted.

In August, in Fagherst, Sweden, a man armed with a sword attacked a school: according to Aftonbladet, one person died, three more were injured, the attacker was detained. In February, a Russian man was arrested in Stockholm during an operation by the State Security Service (Säpo). The United States is seeking his extradition in a case of alleged sanctions violations.
