Forecaster Leus warned of magnetic storms on Friday

Magnetic storms of weak and medium level will cover the Earth on Friday, and on Sunday the geomagnetic field of the planet should return to a calm state, according to the leading specialist of the weather center “Phobos” Mikhail Leus.

This week began with a rise in solar activity. On the Sun there were several flares of level M, the penultimate of the possible intensity, — stated in the message.

According to the forecaster, two of them, recorded in the first half of Tuesday, ejected in the direction of the Earth two relatively large clouds of plasma. International prognostic centers processed data from space telescopes and came to the conclusion that clouds of solar matter will reach Earth in the early hours of Friday morning.

Perturbations of the geomagnetic field will last about two days, Leus said. On October 9, it is possible to form magnetic storms of the level of G1-G2, that is, weak and medium. The probability of their occurrence, according to the expert, is about 80%.

Earlier, the weather forecaster told about the baric comb in Moscow on October 7. The phenomenon will provide sunny weather without precipitation.

Earlier, the specialist of the weather center “Phobos” Evgeny Tishkovets predicted that during the week the air temperature in the capital will fluctuate from plus 11 to plus 15 degrees.
