The fire destroyed the temple of the Buddhist monastery "Ustuu-Huree" in the Republic of Tuva. This was announced by the Chairman of the administration of Dzun-Khemchik district Aydys Kuular on his page in the social network “Vkontakte”.

The monastery complex is located in Ortaa Alak, 5 km from the city of Chadan, and is considered the historical and spiritual center of the Buddhist community of the republic.

“The flames rising above the structures and partly stonework can be seen from distant approaches,” Aydys Kuular said.

The head of the district stressed that there were no victims, the causes of the fire investigators will establish after the elimination of the fire.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Tyva, 12 firefighters and four units of special equipment work at the scene.

RBC appealed for a comment to the main department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the republic.
