According to him, Gasilin died on October 4 in Moscow.
“Gasilyn was much more than just a fashion designer. He was a great artist – a man with his own look, who greatly influenced Russian fashion and how one can perceive modern cut.
Gasilin was born on December 8, 1978 in the Kazakh SSR. In 2000 he graduated from the Faculty of Textile and Light Industry at the Ukrainian Engineering and Pedagogical Academy in Kharkiv.
In 2001, he became a finalist of the contest “Russian silhouette”, presenting the collection “Raritets”. In 2005, he trained at the Paris fashion house Dominique Sirop.
In 2008, Gasilin founded the women’s clothing brand Cyrille Gassiline. Items from the collections of the brand were exhibited in the Hermitage.
Gasilin also created costumes for the ballet program “The Afternoon Rest of the Faun and His Nymphs” for the National Ballet of Tokyo in 2005 and the play “I.S. Turgenev. Malek-Adel” at the Pushkin Museum in 2018.
In addition, Gasilin, together with fashion historian Alexander Vasiliev, made costumes for the performances “Life with the Emperor” at the Pushkin Museum (2006) and “My Fair Lady” at the Südalinna Theatre in Estonia (2020).
