In Komsomolsk-on-Amur, a fire in an apartment on the fourth floor of an apartment building killed a woman and four children, two more were rescued. A criminal case was opened, the regional department of the IC reported.

"The investigation established that in the early morning of October 8, during the fire extinguishing in an apartment on the 4th floor of a residential building on Gamarnik Street in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, the bodies of five people were found - a woman and her four children," the report said.

Investigators opened a case under Part 3 of Art. 109 of the Criminal Code on causing death by negligence to two or more persons.

According to the regional Ministry of Emergencies of Russia, the area of the fire was 10 square meters. m, household items burned, the fire was eliminated in 43 minutes. At the time of the incident, a mother and six children were in the house.

“Two children, aged 6 and 10, were rescued by neighbours before fire fighters arrived and taken to hospital. The rest, unfortunately, died, — said in the MOE.
