US President Donald Trump is seeking permission to turn his Trump International golf club in West Palm Beach (Florida) into a permanent presidential facility for holding summits and meetings with world leaders, Bloomberg writes.
According to the proposal, it is planned to create a presidential residence on the territory of the club. Trump attorney Harvey Oyer, in a letter to the Palm Beach County Commission, compared the future facility to Camp David, Windsor Castle and the Elysee Palace.
Trump said the military and Secret Service have proposed using the golf course as a place for presidential recreation and meetings. According to him, the facility is suitable for this due to the high level of security and proximity to the airport.
"They could spend the weekend there, like at Camp David, and they asked if I was willing to do that, and I said I was ready," Trump said at a White House news conference.
Trump has previously repeatedly hosted foreign leaders at his Trump International Golf Club in Florida. In March 2025, the American leader and President of Finland Alexander Stubb discussed the possibility of buying icebreakers for the United States.
In addition, Trump hosted some leaders at the Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida. Among her guests were Chinese President Xi Jinping, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, as well as the leaders of Italy, Canada, Argentina and Hungary.
