In Russia, 227 enterprises introduced payments of 1 million rubles at the birth of a child

One-time payments in the amount of 1 million rubles. at the birth of a child set 227 enterprises in Russia, said the Minister of labor and social protection Anton Kotyakov during the strategic report at the All-Russian week of labor protection.

According to the Minister, a year and a half ago, such payments were provided only by single enterprises.

As Kotyakov noted, the spread of this practice was facilitated by the possibility of deducting payments from the tax base. As a result, enterprises have become more active in incorporating this support measure into corporate programs.

Earlier, Kotyakov said that the initiative to support the birth rate by employers is aimed primarily at changing the attitude to employees with family responsibilities.

In addition to cash payments, businesses need to provide pregnant women with the opportunity to work remotely or on a flexible schedule, and after the birth of a child – to switch to a reduced working day or use children’s rooms on the territory of organizations. Such measures, according to the minister, should help women combine careers with raising children.
