In the Soltonsky district of the Altai Territory eliminated three bears near the site of the predator’s attack on a teenager. This was reported by TASS in the regional Ministry of Natural Resources.
“Three individuals have been produced since the incident. It is difficult to determine whether there is a bear among them who attacked, the department explained.
RBC sent a request to the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Altai Territory.
On October 8, the press service of the Ministry of Natural Resources reported the beginning of the search for a bear that attacked a teenager in the Soltonsky district. To eliminate the predator sent three task forces, which included 12 hunters. Law enforcement officials also went to the scene.
The Ministry said that the hunters received all the necessary permits to shoot the animal. High alert in the Salton district was introduced two weeks before the incident. During its operation, hunters caught about 30 brown bears.
In recent months, bears in different regions of Russia have become more likely to go to settlements and approach places where people are. Experts attribute this, among other things, to the lack of natural food - in search of food, animals enter the territory of settlements.
According to the Ministry of Natural Resources, in 2026 there are about 308 thousand brown bears in Russia. Since 1990, their numbers have more than doubled.
