On October 9, a planned inspection of public warning systems took place in Russia. During the events, the readiness of equipment and communication channels to transmit signals in case of threat or emergency situations was checked, RBC was informed in the Emergencies Ministry of Russia.
During the inspection, electric sirens and loudspeakers were included, and the air of public TV channels and radio stations was replaced with information messages.
"Having heard the siren sound, it is necessary to remain calm to turn on any public TV channel or radio and listen to the message," the message said.
All-Russian inspection of public warning systems, scheduled for October 7, was postponed to October 9 by the decision of Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
The previous all-Russian inspection of warning systems took place on March 4. Then, sirens and loudspeakers were launched in Russian cities, and television and radio channels and the EMERCOM mobile application were used to transmit the signal “Attention to everyone!”.
