According to the publication, five people are listed as missing. They lived on the banks of the Ungilung River in Chumchit. Also lost contact with the five shepherds who went from Sirdibas towards Chumling. There is no information about the dead.
According to the newspaper, flood waters washed away the construction camp and part of the equipment at the site of the Budhi-Gandaki hydroelectric power plant with a capacity of 341 MW in Salleri, several houses in Machkhakhol were flooded, and about 20-22 houses in Salleri are under threat of flooding.
According to preliminary data from the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the cause of the flood could be a landslide near Chumchet. The Kathmandu Post notes that satellite images confirm a major landslide in the area. Due to fluctuations in water levels, authorities have warned of a very high risk of flooding along the Trishuli River corridor all the way to Benighat.
At the end of August in the north of Nepal from the mountain Langtang-Lirung collapsed part of the glacier. The landslide passed more than 70 km along the riverbed. The victims of the landslide were more than 1.3 thousand people.
