The Ministry of Education updated the content of the program for high school students

The Ministry of Education reported on the update of the work program for high school students. The department reviewed the content of a number of subjects, including Russian language, literature, mathematics, computer science, natural sciences (physics, chemistry, biology), as well as OZH (Fundamentals of Security and Defense of the Motherland) and geography, the press service said.

“Now the education system will become even more flexible and will more accurately take into account the interests of schoolchildren,” Minister of Education Sergey Kravtsov said.

As noted in the department, the training profiles will be supplemented by new specialized areas - from engineering and medical to linguistic and literary-historical. Schools will be able to create such classes at the expense of the variable part of the program. The new rules will come into force on 1 September 2027 and will apply to admission to secondary general education programs in the academic year 2027/28.

Kravtsov this week said that the Ministry of Education decided to include in the school curriculum a new course on artificial intelligence (AI) and information security. According to the minister, the course will be tested from the second quarter of the current academic year. In the next academic year, the course will be compulsory.
