A tourist bus collided with a tow truck on a highway in western Turkey, near a toll point in the town of Ahisar.
The Manisa governor's office said it received a report on the morning of October 11 of an accident involving a tourist bus and a tow truck at the entrance to the highway in Ahisar. Both vehicles were travelling from Bursa to Izmir.
“Medical and rescue teams have been dispatched to the scene and rescue operations have been promptly launched. As a result of the accident, 11 people were killed, 27 were injured. The victims were taken to hospitals, the report said.
Manisa Governor Vahdettin Ozkan arrived at the scene of the accident. He said that the investigation is ongoing under the leadership of the Prosecutor’s office and expressed condolences to the families of the victims.
In late May, in Turkey, when a passenger bus collided with a road fence on the Denizli-Aydin highway, eight people were killed and 33 others were injured. The bus followed from Izmir to Antalya. This was reported by local media. In the same month in Antalya there was an accident involving a tour bus, which injured 14 Russians. The bus ran into an obstacle, the victims received injuries of mild and moderate severity.
