In Russia for the first half of 2026, almost 200 teenagers committed crimes of a terrorist nature, said the official representative of the Investigative Committee of Russia Svetlana Petrenko, reports TASS.
“Over the past three years, more and more minors in our country have committed terrorist crimes. If in 2024, 98 people were brought to justice, then in the first half of this year already 196 teenagers were convicted of such acts.
Petrenko noted that under the influence of anonymous curators, teenagers often make attempts to destroy transport infrastructure. According to the representative of the UK, children from different families, including prosperous ones, are involved in such crimes.
Curators from Ukraine recruit Russian teenagers through online games, anonymous chat rooms and closed groups, resorting to blackmail and threats, Petrenko explained. “By deceiving, intimidating, blackmailing and threatening teenagers, they are misled, take advantage of ignorance of the criminal law, promising easy earnings and evasion of responsibility, pushing young people to commit especially serious crimes,” she said.
