Residents of Bali should use public transport - not only against the background of the current situation with a shortage of gasoline, but also in everyday life, the head of the Bali Transport Agency I Kadek Mudarta told reporters.
"We always encourage people to use public transport, not just this time but at every opportunity," he said.
Mudarta noted that the fleet is ready for a possible increase in the number of passengers due to a lack of fuel.
Authorities are also urging residents to use public transport for daily travel, including to reduce traffic congestion and address energy shortages.
Bali faced a gas shortage last week. At gas stations in settlements of the province, including the administrative center of Denpasar, queues are still gathering.
The head of the Bali Agency for Labor, Energy and Mineral Resources, Ida Bagus Setiawan, linked the queue with the depletion of Pertalite and Pertamax gasoline stocks at the gas station. The company itself attributed the deficit to increased demand.
To solve the problem, a ship with additional volumes of fuel arrived in Bali, several more will call at ports this week. In addition, local authorities have accelerated the distribution of energy resources to ensure their delivery to all gas stations in the province.
