Attackers post on the Internet offers to issue a foreign bank card for a fee. For registration, a person is asked for a copy of his passport, his card details and other personal information.
After receiving the data, fraudsters offer to pay for the service, but the card is not issued, and the transferred funds are appropriated. They can also use the information they collect to steal money from accounts or make loans in the name of the victim.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs recommended not to transfer passport information and bank card details to strangers, as well as not to tell anyone the confirmation codes.
The day before, the agency reported on a scheme in which fraudsters under the guise of delivery service employees talk about an error when paying for an order and for the alleged return of money require card data or a code from SMS.
