In a deadly accident with a bus in Egypt suffered three Russians

Three people were killed and 25 injured when a passenger bus collided with a truck on the Hurghada-Ras Gareb highway in Egypt's Red Sea province, Al-Masri al-Yaum newspaper reported. Among the victims were three Russian citizens. In addition to Russians, among the victims — one citizen of France and Italy.

The accident occurred on the 95th kilometer of the road, near the area of Jebel el Zeit. According to preliminary data, the bus crashed into a heavy truck carrying sand. Among the dead was a bus driver.

The passengers suffered fractures and bruises. Several ambulance crews were sent to the scene, representatives of security forces and local authorities also left there. Traffic on the track has already been restored. The police drew up a protocol and notified the prosecutor’s office, which began an investigation into the circumstances of the accident.

In the Russian Union of travel industry (PCT) told RBC that check information about the affected Russians.

According to published data, the Go Bus bus on the Hurghada-Cairo route got into an accident. We are now checking with tour operators and insurance companies whether among the passengers were tourists traveling on organized tours of Russian companies. Information about the victims of Russian citizens is also checked. When we receive confirmed information, we will inform additionally, the organization said.

In September, an accident involving a bus occurred in Antalya, Turkey, injuring six Russians. The accident occurred on the Korkuteli-Fethiye highway in the Yukarykaraman district. The driver of the minibus, 58-year-old Suleyman Ikiz, failed to control, after which the vehicle slid into a ditch.
