The press service noted that Lukashenko not only watched the championship, but also set a high bar for the participants.
“We want journalists to know that they are not the only ones working,” the Belarusian president said.
After finishing the woodcut, Lukashenko left an autograph on the axe.
“I give my axe to the worker, Belarus. Hey, reporters. Greetings to the journalists! ... They are great! This is solely in their honor, he added.
On November 8, the fifth firewood picking championship among media workers takes place in the Minsk region of Belarus. Competitions were organized on the shore of the Vyach reservoir. They involve 37 teams, and journalists compete in individual and team firewood, log cutting with an axe and relays.
In November 2022, Aleksandr Lukashenko already attended the firewood championship among journalists. Then he showed the participants how to properly split large logs with the help of a pole and a sledgehammer, and also cut a small log on his own.
