A pensioner from Zarechensky district of Tula became a victim of fraudsters - she handed over almost a million rubles to the courier.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the region, scammers for several days communicated with the woman by phone and in messengers, convincing her that unknown people are trying to steal money from her accounts. To “save” the savings, she was offered to transfer them to “trusted persons”.
Believing, the 76-year-old tula met with the “agent” and gave him 974 thousand rubles.
On this fact opened a criminal case under part 3 of article 159 of the criminal code of the Russian Federation.
In just one day, four residents aged 19 to 76 turned to the police of the region, and the total amount of funds transferred to fraudsters exceeded 1.4 million rubles.
Earlier, MK in Tula reported that four residents aged 54 to 77 years, who were deceived by fraudsters, contacted the police - the total damage exceeded 7.6 million rubles. Most affected 77-year-old resident Shchekino.
