Each institution will include a detention facility and isolated areas of colonies of different regimes. Prison complexes will be built in the Kaluga, Astrakhan, Tyumen, Kherson regions, Tatarstan, Buryatia and the Trans-Baikal Territory. Most of them are designed for 3 thousand seats, in the Kherson region – for 2.5 thousand.
“Design and subsequent construction are planned... seven institutions of the united type with premises functioning in the mode of remand prison, for 5380 places and sites of correctional colonies for 15 120 places, — stated in the new edition of the Federal Target Program.
The first institution is planned to be built in Tatarstan by 2030, in the Kaluga region by 2031. The complexes are planned to be placed on areas with transport accessibility, near roads. Preliminary assessment of the construction of one institution is from 13 to 20 billion rubles.
In June, the FSIN presented a model of a prefabricated correctional center for those sentenced to forced labor. The correctional center is designed for 200 places. It includes a dormitory building, as well as a square with benches, a sports ground, a courtyard for walks and a parking. The project was sent to the regions as a recommendation.
