On August 18, the administration of Bolokhovo said that they filed a complaint with the police because of the cartoon characters. Officials equated the child’s work with damage to municipal property and complained that the images could not be washed away even with solvent. The Governor of the Tula region Dmitry Milyaev urged to “get behind the child”. The creators of Smesharik invited the girl to their studio.
