The Ministry of Natural Resources did not consider the number of bear attacks this year anomalous

Every year, the number of bear attacks on people in Russia is about 20-30 cases, the Ministry of Natural Resources reported. The Department does not believe that this year there was an anomalous situation.

The Ministry of Natural Resources is convinced that the feeling of mass nature of such incidents arises due to the dissemination of information in social networks. Cases of brown bears reaching people are always recorded - during the entire period when people live near the forest, taiga, where there are bears. Anomalous spike was only in 2014 — 166 cases, — explained TASS in the press service of the Ministry.

Since August, several bear attacks on people have been recorded in Russia, including fatal ones. Tonight, a predator attacked a pensioner in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, a woman died. In the Angara region and Buryatia, due to the invasion of bears, they are transferred to a school distance, hiking trails are closed and restrictions are imposed on visiting forests. Dangerous animals are shot by special teams of hunters - in both regions, more than 300 individuals have already been killed.
