The clergy of Ingushetia supported the idea of banning marriage without certificates of absence of HIV infection. This was reported to Interfax in the press service of the Council of Elders under the head of the republic. The initiative was made by the chief doctor of the Republican center for the prevention and control of AIDS Louise Bekmurzieva.

According to Ms. Bekmurzieva, drug addiction is one of the main factors in the spread of infection. Now more than 1.6 thousand people are registered in the republican center. Council Chairman Murad Darsigov added that the tests will determine the presence of drugs, HIV infection and other diseases in the blood. Local authorities will carefully check the authenticity of the certificates.

To introduce a ban on marriage without certificates of absence of HIV infection and drug dependence in 2023 proposed the head of Ingushetia Mahmud-Ali Kalimatov. He spoke about the increasing number of divorces and pointed out that “young families should not be allowed to break up because of quarrels over drug use.”.
