The Ministry of Natural Resources told about the mechanisms of counteraction to attacks of bears

The current legislation already has mechanisms for regulating the number of bears. Regions are responsible for using these tools. This “Kommersant” was told in the press service of the Ministry of Natural Resources.

Each region can set its own limits for the production of the beast, as well as “must prevent attacks,” the ministry said. They also believe that it is possible to reduce the number of incidents through prevention, eliminating the access of bears to food waste in landfills.

Nevertheless, the Ministry of Natural Resources on the eve announced the collection of proposals from the regions on how to improve hunting legislation to reduce the number of attacks. This work is not yet completed, but the situation remains under control, the department noted. The Ministry of Natural Resources also stressed that the “feeling of mass” of attacks is due to the rapid spread in social networks.

Since August, several bear attacks on people have been recorded in Russia, including fatal ones. Tonight, a predator attacked a pensioner in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, a woman died. In the Angara region and Buryatia due to the invasion of bears are transferred to distance education of schoolchildren and closed hiking trails. More than 300 individuals have been killed in both regions.
