Russian President Vladimir Putin called on Moscow to develop, including on the traditions laid down by the second mayor of the capital, Yuri Luzhkov. The head of state said this in an address to the participants of the event dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the birth of Mr. Luzhkov.
In his address, the President noted that Yuri Luzhkov was able to “understand the problem” and clearly define development priorities. Thanks to his efforts, Mr. Putin noted, a social policy was built in Moscow, based on assistance to pensioners, veterans and disabled people, the reconstruction of the Moscow Ring Road, the construction of the Third Transport Ring and other facilities.
“I am convinced that Moscow will continue to develop successfully, including relying on the strong traditions established by Yuri Mikhailovich Luzhkov,” Putin wrote.
