Utilities infrastructure in Russia is ready for the autumn-winter period by 90%. This was announced by First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov at a meeting of the government subcommittee on ensuring the uninterrupted functioning of certain sectors of the economy.
Mr. Manturov stressed that the state of power, heat and water supply systems, water disposal, boiler houses and engineering networks requires special attention. Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak added that in preparation for the heating season, it is necessary to coordinate the actions of federal and regional authorities.
“Preparing for the autumn-winter period is a systemic and crucial task for energy companies and regions. The quality of this work directly depends on the reliability of energy supply and comfort of residents. It is necessary to prepare energy facilities for the upcoming season in a timely and high-quality manner, check backup sources of energy supply and ensure the necessary amount of fuel for them, Novak said.
The heating season begins when the average daily temperature outside is kept below +8 °C for five consecutive days. However, specific deadlines are determined by local authorities. Minister of Construction and Housing Irek Fayzullin said that all regions of the country have formed the necessary fuel reserves for the winter.
