The Ministry of Education published a draft of amendments to the federal educational program of secondary general education. The document covers programs in the Russian language, literature, mathematics, computer science, physics, chemistry, biology and OZH. According to the amendments, schoolchildren should be “ready to serve the Fatherland” when choosing a future profession.
Among the expected results, the Ministry of Education highlights: “the presence of motivation for socially significant activities aimed at serving the Fatherland”; readiness to protect state sovereignty; formation of the position of “a citizen responsible for the fate of the Fatherland”; “awareness of personal contribution to building a sustainable future, taking into account the priority of spiritual over material”; readiness to counter the destructive ideology of extremism, etc.
The amendments also cover lessons in geography. China, Mongolia and North Korea are considered a “new core of the multipolar world” and Africa as a “strategic partner.”.
Public discussion of the amendments will last until October 8. The text of the current federal program was approved by the Ministry of Education in May 2023. The last time changes to the program were made in November 2025, when the subject “Spiritual and Moral Culture of Russia” was introduced and the volume of foreign language learning was reduced.
