Russian President Vladimir Putin supported the idea of creating a neural network in the field of education. He said this at a meeting via video link with Russian teachers. The head of state noted that artificial intelligence (AI) should be used to facilitate the work of teachers, but education should not be allowed to deteriorate.
“The child needs to have an interest in what he or she will do in person, rather than simply getting a result by pressing a button. It's an extremely important thing. And when using the capabilities of AI, it is necessary to keep this in mind, Vladimir Putin said. To create an appropriate neural network at a meeting with the head of state proposed a teacher of computer science from the Tver region Alexei Morozov.
Research shows that children who do not use AI perform better, the president added. Separately, he noted that it is impossible to allow a situation in which there will be an intellectual elite who have been taught to think, and people who, in their intellectual development, go to the second or third plane.
Minister of Education Sergey Kravtsov, in turn, promised the president to implement a neural network project in the field of education. He also noted that this will not lead to simplification of education.
