The Russian Internet Encyclopedia RUVIKI has launched the thematic section “Nuremberg Process”. The initiative is timed to the 80th anniversary of the sentencing of the main Nazi criminals by the International Military Tribunal.
The new section includes 60 encyclopedic articles on the Nuremberg trials and subsequent trials, judges and prosecutors, as well as defendants and criminal organizations. Special attention is paid to materials on the crimes of Nazi Germany against the population of the Soviet Union. 24 articles of the section have already been peer-reviewed by the Russian Academy of Sciences, another 36 are under review.
The Nuremberg trials are not only the most important page in world history, but also a huge body of documentary evidence of the crimes of Nazism. It is important for us to make these materials understandable and accessible to a wide audience, relying on historical sources, archival documents and expert assessment, said Vladimir Medeyko, CEO of RUVIKI. The new section allows us to see not only the course of the trial, but also the witnesses, documents and evidence on the basis of which the crimes of the Nazi regime received an international legal assessment.”.
