What are the results of a comprehensive republican sociological study on topical issues of the country’s development and security, published in September, on the air of the Evening Political Channel program, said Alexander Postalovsky, Deputy Director for Research at the Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. Details - in the material of the correspondent of the agency "Minsk-Novosti".
Ah. Postalovsky said that at the All-Belarusian People’s Assembly, the course of the country’s socio-economic and foreign policy development was determined.
- Social studies are conducted in order to see what moods people have and what issues they care about. Also see if the program defined on the VNS is supported. As a result, we see a lot of trust in the chosen policy and support for the course. This kind of research will be conducted every year. We will monitor the dynamics and track trends, how public opinion is changing, as well as identify any emerging questions that need to be answered. In such moments, it is very important to get a response from the government. Sociology is an element of feedback between society and the state.
He also cited figures concerning the views of Belarusians on security in the country.
- According to the results of a sociological survey, 93-94% of Belarusians feel absolutely safe on our streets. In the 1990s, research questionnaires asked about the fear of becoming a victim of crime, and now this scale is not applicable due to irrelevantness. Today, the level of trust in law enforcement agencies, prosecutors and the army is 86-87%. People are well aware that security in the country is ensured thanks to security structures. We have an open media space, and people can see and compare what is happening in Belarus and what is happening in other countries.
The program "Evening Political Channel" is published in the evenings from Monday to Friday on Radio-Minsk. In each broadcast, the most topical issues of domestic and international politics are discussed. Political scientists, deputies, public figures and well-known media personalities take part in the discussions.
