“Today, people celebrate their holiday, who every day help children learn new things, believe in themselves and just become older – our teachers,” the head of the region wrote.
The governor spoke about the ambitious goal set by the regional government to make the Novgorod education system one of the best in Russia. And our region is gradually, step by step, implementing its plans. Last year in Veliky Novgorod opened the largest school, designed for 1500 students. Eleven schools have been renovated this year, and the same number is planned to be renovated next year.
“The issue of repairing schools was also raised at our last meeting by Russian President Vladimir Putin, so this is a priority for us,” Alexander Dronov said.
The governor recalled the well-known truth that “it is not walls that teach, but people.” Therefore, it is very important to support those who take the first steps in the profession. In Novgorod region can count on the support of young specialists, future teachers undergoing training on the target set, as well as rural teachers who have become participants in the program “Zemsky teacher”.
In June of this year, on the initiative of Alexander Dronov, the Novgorod Regional Duma adopted a law on the status of the Novgorod Teacher, designed to raise the prestige and authority of teachers. According to the head of the region, to date, ten Novgorod teachers have already received this honorary status and a certificate for a one-time payment of 500 thousand rubles.
